About the role
TNQTech is looking for a UI Developer to join our growing team of people working to redefine content and technology in the scholarly publishing landscape. As a UI Developer, you will develop web applications, following best practices for accessibility and design thinking principles.
Responsibilities
- Develop web applications (front-end) according to design components and information architecture, and integrate front-end applications with the applications’ business layers
- Follow best practices and standards for accessibility and cross-browser compatibility
- Collect feedback from designers and technical staff on website development and its requirements
- Adhere to established coding standards and procedures
- Add to the engineering team’s culture of high code quality
- Participate in the requirement specification process for new software functionalities
- Design and build UIs on any server platform
- Guide developer teams and ensure that best practices are followed
The ideal candidate
- A professional with 2-6 years of experience in UI design and development and a good portfolio of UI design skills
- A candidate with hands-on experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery (optional: React and Angular), who is proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
- Bonus: someone with the ability to conduct usability testing to resolve interface problems, coordinate with Interface Design Architects to meet accessibility standards, execute accessibility and progressive enhancement practices, and ensure design consistency with the client’s development standards and guidelines
