Indexer – Sciences / Humanities (Freelance, remote)
About the role
We are looking for freelance indexers based in India to join our team. In this remote role, you will work on books in the sciences or humanities, including technical and scientific research, medical and health sciences, and humanities and social sciences.
What will you do?
- Create indexes based on requirements (author index, keyword index, subject index, taxonomy index, or a combination of requirements).
- Ensure consistency.
- Perform proper identification of page numbers and markers.
Essential job requirements
- Proficiency in English.
- A minimum of 2 years of indexing experience, particularly in the fields of medical/health sciences, scientific/technical content, and humanities/social sciences.
- Thorough knowledge of guidelines.
- A strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Educated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level in sciences/humanities.
