We are looking for freelance proofreaders based in India to join our team. In this remote role, you will work on books in the sciences or humanities, including technical and scientific research, medical and health sciences, and humanities and social sciences.

  • Proofread typeset documents for basic grammar errors (such as spelling errors and subject-verb disagreement), product requirements (style guidelines), typeset layout requirements (such as word breaking, column balancing, indentation, and section hierarchy) and layman reader logic (including matching artworks and captions).
  • Ensure articles meet journal and/or publisher expectations, delivering consistent and error-free work.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proofreading experience, particularly in the fields of medical/health sciences, scientific/technical content, and humanities/social sciences.
  • Familiarity with annotating PDF files.
  • Thorough knowledge of guidelines.
  • A strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects efficiently.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Educated to a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree level in sciences/humanities.

TNQTech requires all freelancers working outside of India to procure a ‘Tax Residency Certificate’ from the tax department of their country of residence. This is a mandatory requirement in order for us to be able to process payments to you. We will be able to assist you with this, and also reimburse any fees involved.
